I hope you had a great day. There being no meeting last week there isn't a lot to report so instead I will promote our upcoming meetings and events as well
as a report on one of our members on his bike overseas.
As above at next week's meeting we will have Peter Cook speaking about International Maritime Security. Peter has worked with intergovernmental agencies (UNODC & IMO), flag and port States, international shipping associations and private maritime security providers. Having worked in London for ten years, he is now based in Melbourne, Australia, exploring new opportunities in the Indo-Pacific region. He is an Honorary Fellow with the Australian National Centre for Ocean Resources and Security (ANCORS) University of Wollongong. A Visiting Lecturer at City, University of London, Dalian Maritime University, China and ANCORS. He is also a Freelance Journalist, commenting on maritime security related issues for maritime industry media platforms, a co-founder and Indo-Pacific Editor of the exciting new International Journal of Maritime Crime & Security.
Should be a very interesting talk and we look forward to seeing you there.

Reminder: An invitation
As the result of a successful End Polio Fundraising walk last year with people and pets, Rotary Passport Melbourne has been asked to launch
End Polio month for D9800.
I am excited to share that PAWS FOR POLIO will take place this year on Sunday 6 October at Elsternwick Park. Participants can choose a short course around the dog park or begin their End Polio Month walk by a 5 or 10 km walk. Humans and 4 pawed walkers have plenty of choice.
We will be joined by Rotary Club of Balwyn North
who will be in charge of the BBQ/Sausages.
