Great joint meeting with Brighton North Rotary on Thursday night. A special thanks to President Lyn Mortimer and also to Cameron Spence for arranging Rob Sinclair CEO of E&S to talk to us. Great story indeed.
You will have received a copy of the May minutes and noted the reference to a proposed donation of $10,000 to the Les Twentyman Foundation. This has now been approved by the Board; however, it still needs to be voted on by members in view of the amount. The vote will be held at the meeting on 6th June, when PP Paul Nicholson will give some background on the late Les
Twentyman and his involvement with our Club over many years.
Some terrific news via Jo Kwok all the way from Italy. She has been keeping watch over the five teams our Club selected for the District MUNA - the team from Brighton Grammar were awarded the best MUNA debating team of the competition and as a result will be heading to Canberra to compete at the national MUNA competition. Congratulations to Jo for organising and to the BGS team. Photo highlights will be in next week's Bulletin.
Bayspeak Heat 3 at Brighton Grammar also went well, thanks to Tina O'Donnell, Alexandra Florea, Geoff Cunningham, and Stephanie Hunt who stepped in at the last minute given David Smyth had to withdraw due to Covid. The final will be held at Firbank Grammar on Tuesday 4 June.
Please mark it in your diaries as it would be great for the Club to attend
and support.
That’s it from me and I hope to see all of you at Thursday's meeting.
