Earlier last week, there was a lot of joy and Christmas spirit for young and old at the 7th Bayside Family Christmas Event. This community led initiative was hosted by the Rotary Club of Brighton, Hampton Rotary & Hampton RSL in conjunction with BayCISS, Family Life, Team Sports 4 All, Enhanced Maternal Child Health, Bayside VICPOL members, and Bayside Council’s Youth Services. Invited families enjoyed some Christmas cheer with activities such as lawn bowls, pickle ball, bubbles, face painting, entertained by carols with the Holy Trinity Choir, and enjoyed a traditional Christmas dinner served by Bayside’s Country Women’s Association, and then a visit by Santa bearing gifts for the
good boys and girls.
A massive thank you to the generosity of St Leonard’s College community for the presents that have brought smiles to many - these were distributed to some of Bayside’s most vulnerable who attended, plus clients supported by the local chapter of Vinnies, refugees in broader Melbourne and Sacred Heart Mission. A huge heart felt thank you to all that have volunteered in the planning
and execution of this event, and those that contributed
time/energy on the day. Report Jo Kwok.
