President’s weekly message
I enjoyed listening to our former member Michael Jess zooming in from Celle, Germany and reminiscing about his time with Brighton Rotary. The quality of sound was a bit disappointing, however Michael has sent over a copy of his talk, so we will be able to send this out to members - watch this space.
And what about our students from Brighton Grammar - Eric and Jenson. Wonderful ambassadors for the Club and our District. A huge thanks to Jo Kwok who organised the Muna teams.
This message is shorter than usual, as I am having a very social weekend – my sister is over from NZ, so a big catch up and lunch on Saturday, followed by the Rotary Peninsular lunch on Sunday. Not easing off as a Hacker’s dinner on Monday to say another farewell to Bruce Crossley, the Hacker’s handicapper extraordinaire.
Hope to see many of you there this week with Colin Heseltine.
President Arthur Hubbard
Meeting Highlights 24 August

Secretaries Announcements
Secretary Nicole Chong was away and Roger Fairlam filled in.
There were two announcements.
Working With Children
Anne Holland presented the current legislative requirements for Working With Children as this applies to most of our events, not just our Youth programs.
There are two aspects, Victorian Legislation with significant penalties for non-compliance, as well as Insurance requirements. It means that all Rotarians and volunteers assisting on events such as our Great Bayside Swim and the Brighton Classic Car Show, need to comply. Anne will be asking for members compliance and will keep members updated on what needs to be done.
