BUILDING & GIFTING HOMES IN CAMBODIA
Speaker Jason Thatcher

Jason is the founder of Global Village Housing.

Living conditions in the remote villages of Cambodia are some of the worst in the world - unsafe, unsanitary and unsure. Without a safe place to call home, everything else can become void.

At Global Village Housing they build and gift homes to families living in extreme poverty to give them a brighter future.

GVH HOME IN BRIEF

Each home is pre-built by the GVH team in our factory on the outskirts of Phnom Penh.  Their registered design is built tough to provide protection in the harshest environments - galvanized frames, lockable, fully-insulated, cross-ventilation design, solar-powered, and vermin/flood proof. Administration costs are kept to a minimum and are covered by the founder of GVH. This ensures donations go completely toward construction of these houses.

GET INVOLVED

They would love to hear from you. GVH partners with like-minded people and businesses who understand the urgent need for housing in Cambodia.

They are a registered NGO in Cambodia and partnered with the Rotary Club of Brighton.

Gifting a home is a truly rewarding experience.

SHELTER REAL ESTATE
Speaker Daniel Reynolds

Daniel is the CEO & co founder of Shelter Group.

Shelter believe in a home for everyone and seek to
empower this mission through their partnership with
Global Village Housing.

They recognise their part in this positive partnership by proactively donating a significant portion of their sales commission from every sale, at no extra cost to their clients - for every home sold by Shelter they commit to providing housing for one person.

These much needed funds pay for essential resources and labour to build homes for the homeless in Cambodia and they are lending a hand to assist them in having the shelter they too deserve.

You can visit Global Village Housing to find out how
your contributions are making a difference to the lives
of Cambodians.

Malcolm James - Tanzania

Malcolm spoke about his teams wonderful work in Tanzania providing medical operations for many children from families disadvantaged families.

Pres Colleen d'Offay
Containers for Papua New Guinea
At the end of the meeting Colleen spoke about 3 shipping containers of used school equipment and more that were being sent to Papua New Guinea from Donations In Kind.

She also spoke about The Farmers Relief Project, in collaboration with RC Brighton North and DIK and said to mark these dates in our diaries: 7 and 8 November 14 and 15 November.

Together with the Rotary Club of Brighton North, we will be invited to help load the trailers on the Friday in Warrnambool and then assist with the distribution to six CWA locations. This is in preparation for the Pop-Up Shops, which will run in the evenings. During these events, families most in need will be invited to come along and select the items they most need.

Last week's Raffle Results

The raffle last week was run by Wendy Davis with help from Christine Nicholson. The winners were speaker Jason and Rob Pinchbeck.

RCB Footy Tipping Competition
HOME AND AWAY WINNERS
& FINALS COMPETITION TIPPING

Congratulations to our Home and Away winners

First: $1,000 - Outstanding tipping by Lesley Kearns to lead at the half-way mark and continue to lead right through the second half of the Season. It would appear her Essendon jumper did not get in the road of her tipping.
Second: $600 - Bill Howley had a great season, 3rd at the half-way mark and had a much better season than his Carlton jumper. (apology Bill, hard to do silver in type).
Third: $200 -  Ian finished on the medal dais again this year. Certainly not hindered by the outstanding season of his Adelaide jumper.

A special mention to Fourth: Stan our nonagenarian tipster who was near the lead all season despite his leaning to St Kilda. We need to establish a Hall of Fame  for tipsters like Stan over the years.

Our Lone 7-8-9 had two winners for the season:
John  $80
Big Kev $30  (still to be claimed Kev)

Round 24 was a JACKPOT
near miss with Pat and Roona both tipping 9 winners.

This means the Jackpot goes to increase the FINALS PRIZES
New FINALS PRIZES are:
FINALS COMP: $270 (was $200)
GRAND FINAL: $160 ( was $100)

FINALS COMP STARTS THIS THURSDAY
Remember that we all start equal in the Finals
and Grand Final competitions.
Because the AFL Tipping does not cover the Finals games, as usual our Finals Comps will require you to email me your selections.
The first game of each week will be the MARGIN game.
This will decide the Comp result if winners tipped are equal.

Good Tipping, Regards Alan and Pat
