The week ended with the sad news of the passing of member and Past District Governor John King. Once again sincere our condolences go out to Elaine and the King family. As I mentioned in my note to members on Friday, I will let you know details of the service or memorial as soon as they are available.
Memories of PDG John King OAM Rotary Days
On a happier note, congratulations to Maria Hicks on her
Rotary Paws for Polio walk
at Elsternwick Park on Saturday morning. It really was a great initiative. A big thank you to those Rotarians who turned up to support Maria and the team.
The next event is Big Bayside Serve on Sunday 29 October at the Beaumaris Lawn Tennis Club. We have 12 volunteers already, however, we do need a few more to assist with the fun planned for the afternoon. (Contact Arthur if you would like to participate).
Hope to see all of you at Rotary next Thursday 19 October.
President Arthur Hubbard

Thursday, 5 October 2023.
Mr NEWBURY (Brighton) (9:42):
There are few community organisations that have had as strong an impact on Bayside as has the Rotary Club of Brighton.
The Club recently celebrated their 50th Anniversary, an incredible testament to their longstanding achievement.
In just the last 15 years the Club has raised $3.25 million for those in need.
Congratulations to Club President Arthur Hubbard and the giants of the Rotary Club of Brighton.
