RCB Bulletin Thursday 23 January 2025
Last week with President Donna unwell with covid
VP Ian Stacy took over the helm and ran an entertaining meeting
with speaker Colin Tyrus from 88.3 Southern FM presenting a very interesting and sometimes humorous talk about his extensive radio career and spoke about being the Media Partner with the Kieser Great Bayside Swim. There was also a new member induction of Tamar Burjawi and a spirited Sergeant's Session from PP Julie Avery who extracted valuable fines from her unsuspecting victims. We also welcomed Remy Horrobin and Sami Tambanis who are members of the Brighton Lifesaving Club
who were special guests.

The next Club Meeting is on Thursday 6 February with the Swim coming up next Saturday 25 January but a Social Event is planned for Thursday 30 January so look our for more information on that.

Best wishes from all to Pres Donna for a speedy recovery.

The Chairman of The Kieser Great Bayside Swim, Stuart McIntyre provided a brief update on the event.

He said that preparation for GBS 2025 next Saturday is well advanced with higher swimmer registrations than the same point in previous years -
a good trend.

New Member Induction

Last week VP Ian Stacy inducted a new member to our Club in Tamar Burjawi. He is sponsored by PP Pat Kearns. VP Ian did the traditional induction ceremony and afterwards PP Pat Kearns spoke about Tamar and his attendance at various meetings and a little bit about his background. Tamar is currently a PhD student (Health Sciences, RMIT), research assistant (Biomedical engineering, RMIT), administration officer (Surgical services, The Alfred Hospital) and volunteer (CRG, Smith Family). Tamar was then asked to speak to the Club members. He said he looked forward to meeting us all and wants to connect with his community, make new friendships and support Rotary services.
