Welcome to the new Rotary Year after a great Changeover event which was organised very well by PP Keiran Cromie and PP Julie Avery. Thanks and congratulations to you both.
This week's meeting on Thursday 18 July at the Brighton Beach Hotel will be a Olympic & Sporting Trivia Night with prizes for winning tables. We will also hear an update on Rotary Pacific the officially adopted name to our region of Rotary, replacing the term Zone 8 and other club matters. Should be a great night. Please book by tomorrow by 6.00pm. A reminder notice will be sent out in the morning.
A reminder that the DIK Opening Day is on Saturday 10 August from 10:00am to 3:00pm. See below for details.
There will also be an Opening Day at Bayside Council Chambers on
27 & 28 July. Details are in the following link:
Also below is a table showing President Donna's availability over the following 3 months. As she stated in her Changeover speech she has to be travelling overseas with her job at ZircoDATA during this time and will have a little availability but will pop in when she can. From October she will be with us
full time.
Please if anyone has ideas on getting some great speakers for our meetings we would love to hear from you.
Well that's all from me. I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming meetings.
Vice President Ian Stacy
Travelling Rotarians
Over the past months several of our Members have been travelling overseas and below are some of their happy snaps.
David Smyth in Canada bushwalking, canoeing, Canadian Fiord walk & in UK setting out on 5 day tour of the Cotswolds.
PP Ian Stacy took these pictures of a Rotary stone in Queens Royal Park, Lewiston, Niagara Falls, Canada in June. Popular picnic viewing spot on the Great Lakes similar to Green Point in popularity with tourists.
Angie Biggin took these pictures in Hua Hin, Thailand recently. They show The Floating Market, Bangkok, a beach scene at Hua Hin and Angie enjoying a gnt (just one she said).

District 9800 Grants Seminar
To be eligible to participate in the grants program offered by The Rotary Foundation, including Global Grants, District Grants and the Year 11-12 Scholarship Grant program, Rotary clubs must be represented at a Grants Seminar run by the District Rotary Foundation Committee. Clubs must qualify each year.
A grant from The Rotary Foundation can help your club start its projects sooner, or expand the reach and impact of your project through increased scope and scale. As a leader of your club a Rotary Foundation grant can help you achieve your service goals in the year ahead.
- The second seminar will be on Sunday July 21st, from 2:00pm until 3:30pm.
Club presidents, Foundation chairs and Avenue of Service chairs will especially benefit from attendance, but all members are welcome to attend and learn about the work of the Rotary Foundation and how clubs can access grant funding to increase the impact of club projects.
Global and District Rotary Foundation Grants are available to every eligible club in District 9800. I do hope that you will be able to attend, and that you will encourage your members to attend to learn more about how The Rotary Foundation can help clubs reach their service goals sooner.
We have one registration and would welcome any others.
