This week's meeting:
Thursday 21 September
Speaker: Michael McGirr
Mission facilitator and
head of community engagement
for Caritas Australia
President’s weekly message
Another good week with Prof Peter Doherty who was an excellent and entertaining speaker at the last meeting. What an individual. My thanks to all those who attended and made the room atmosphere so good.
And then there was Friday night – sorry Demon’s supporters. Well. I’m not actually all that sorry. Go the Blues, albeit I'm a bit worried about our trip to the Gabba this weekend. But I live in hope.
On to Rotary news, I have been reviewing the Calendar and it's going to be a busy month in October, starting with our 50th Birthday Lunch, followed by the PAWs Walk for Polio and finally the Big Serve Tennis match. Not to be outdone is the Bayside Art Show in November. No rest for the wicked as they say.
Our Luncheon bookings are really strong, so if you are still planning to attend but haven’t yet booked I strongly recommend you do so now to avoid missing out. It will be a wonderful afternoon and a chance to catch up with old friends.
Have a great week, and I hope to see you all on Thursday.
