RCB Bulletin Thursday 6 June 2024
Its June already and I can’t believe there is only one month left in this Rotary year. I am now on the countdown to Changeover. The year has gone quickly indeed.

Big thanks to David Mence last Thursday night. It’s great when we have successful members of the Rotary Family talk at our meeting. Well done David – and of course to proud father Ian.

As previously mentioned, this Thursday members will be asked to vote the proposed donation of $10,000 of the Les Twentyman Foundation. Prior to the vote, PP Paul Nicholson will give some background on the late Les Twentyman and his involvement with our Club over many years.

Other news, you will have seen the flyer about the social event of the year to be held on the 20 June at Hampton RSL for RCB members, partners, and friends. As I mentioned on Thursday night, Issi’s Tribute to Neil Diamond and the Beatles late June was booked out, so after we made contact, Issi agreed to do his Tribute night especially for our Club. It will be a great night - you can come along at 6.00pm and eat at the RSL, or simply attend Issi’s performance at 8.00pm, or both as I know many will do. I strongly suggest you all book early though as it will be a popular event and numbers have to be capped. If you need more info on the evening - please see Geoff Cunningham.

It’s the Bayspeak final at Firbank Grammar this week as the students from 8 schools vie for the winner’s podium and the right to compete at Parliament House on the 18 June. It would be good for members of the Club to attend and hear quality of these young speakers. All you have to do is turn up at Firbank Grammar main gate - 51 Outer Cresent at around 6.45pm.

That’s it from me, as I return to the task of pondering the great questions - is there life after death, how was the Universe formed, and why do I always get the Carlton result wrong in my Footy tipping. Hmmm.

That’s all from me folks, hope to see all of you Thursday where we will learn what there is to know on Electric vehicles.
