RCB Bulletin Thursday 5 December 2024

Message from the President

There was no meeting last week but that didn't mean
that Rotarians weren't active.

On Thursday 28 November the Bayside Elderly Citizens Christmas Lunch was held at the Hampton RSL and what a wonderful day it was. The Rotary Club of Brighton in collaboration with Bayside City Council, Victoria, hosted a lovely lunch for the senior citizens of Bayside. It was beautiful to see so many enjoy the community connection, some fabulous food and a great atmosphere and  Rotarians were on hand to help out. Well done to all.

We also celebrated the life of past member PP Barry Morris and Rotary members and partners and past members attended the memorial. Condolences to Sally and family.

I look forward to seeing you at the Wine Tasting and Tapas night this Thursday. Have a great week.

Rotary  members and partners were invited by Barry's family to attend a memorial service on Friday 29 November at the Sandringham Yacht Club along with family and friends. The welcome speech was from Rob Pennell and tributes were from past member Ken Paterson, former school mate Warwick Tozer, daughters Victoria & Camille and wife Sally Morris. A reading was presented by Tara Morris.
It was a fitting tribute to a man full of energy who lived life to the full and loving his family and friends. He was a Past President of our Club from 1996-1997 and was awarded the Paul Harris Fellow for services to the Club. He will be sorely missed by his family, friends and his Rotary mates. Rest in peace Barry.
