Peter has been a volunteer with Sea Shepherd since 2012, an organisation that has been at the forefront of tackling illegal activities in our oceans. He joined as he has a lifetime of diving, surfing, and sailing in the waters around Melbourne and across the globe and was very keen to help keep our oceans viable and as pristine as possible.

Peter started with a tour of the MV Bob Barker, spoke to many people including the bosun and particularly about their ability to deal with emergencies at sea. Shortly after he was training crews and sourcing firefighting equipment. It bloomed from there became very involved with ship maintenance and refitting, preparing machine and training crew for campaigns.

Peter is an educator for Sea Shepherd and has been very active in the marine debris space, this includes local and remote beach cleans as far away as the western side of Cape York.

His other life involves work in the emergency services as a firefighter and instructor in Victoria.
