Rotary Club of Brighton’s 2017 Bayside Art Show – Record Breaking Success

Exceptional and Inspirational, are words that are mentioned often when discussing the 2017 Rotary Club of Brighton - Bayside Art Show, “Whilst not the biggest of all the art shows the Bayside Art Show is often referred to as the best and this 2017 year certainly proves that point”.

With a previously unheard of yield of 20%, (ie. number of paintings sold of total exhibited) this year’s Bayside Art Show has even eclipsed the previous two years record art sales.

Held from August 17th to August 20th at the magnificent Sandringham Yacht Club Venue, there were close to 600 works on display by such amazingly talented and skilled artists from both local and interstate. Add this to the high standard of paintings submitted, plus such beautiful surroundings and the stage was already set for such a successful outcome.

The gala opening night run by major sponsor Mercedes-Benz Brighton started the ball rolling and invited guests took advantage of being first to view the exhibits by purchasing 28% of all paintings sold.

With such an incredible range of great works being displayed, the feast continued over the next four days of the event with the result being 99% increased art sales on the previous 2016 record year.

The Bayside Art Show supported by Mercedes-Benz Brighton has been totally run and managed by The Rotary Club of Brighton in conjunction with the Brighton Recreation Centre since it commenced back in 1970. Hundreds of volunteer man hours by Rotary Club Members enables the Art Show to be held every year, with 100% of all proceeds ploughed back into charities and the local community.

“The Bayside Art Show has been at the Sandringham Yacht Club for the past 5 years and with their support plus Mercedes-Benz Brighton as the Platinum Sponsor, along with our many other sponsors, the shows reputation has steadily grown and is now identified as “the go to” Art Show in Victoria, which coupled with such high yield outcomes now attracts many of the leading artists from local and interstate”.
